Marc Lavoie’s Post-Keynesian Economics: New Foundations

Marc Lavoie’s new book Post-Keynesian Economics: New Foundations (which runs to 680 pages) has just been published by Edward Elgar Publishing and the fascinating first chapter is available online here:
Marc Lavoie, Post-Keynesian Economics: New Foundations (2014).
On pp. 38–47, there is a very good discussion of the various strands of Post Keynesianism, and on p. 43 Table 1.8 is an excellent list of the major Post Keynesian economists classified into their various strands (further discussed by Matias Vernengo in a nice post here).

On pp. 50–53, Lavoie uses the Sonnenschein–Mantel–Debreu theorem to point out the problems with neoclassical microeconomics and demand curves.

Philip Pilkington also discusses Lavoie’s book here.

  1. I would imagine that Lavoie's recent taxonomy was inspired by discussions on a certain blog... hmmm...
